NEWS RELEASE: Driving Change with Every Swing: 2023 Rally for the Valley Golf Tournament

Benefit to help build St. Luke’s Wood River Employee Housing

Ketchum, ID (August 22, 2023)—The Elkhorn, Sun Valley and Valley Club golf committees will co-host the 2023 “Rally for the Valley,” a co-ed golf fundraising tournament on Tuesday, August 22 at the Elkhorn Golf Club to benefit the St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation.

Event committee member, Marilyn Hoffman said, “Everyone wants to keep the donations local. This year we are excited about playing to raise funds for healthcare workforce housing, a major need in retaining and recruiting staff to our valley. In previous years we have funded equipment, however this year we came to realize that none of this equipment would be functional without the staff to operate it. Knowing this, we decided we needed to help the St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation fund workforce housing.”

At last year’s “Rally for the Valley” 119 men and women enjoyed a rousing round of 18 holes while raising $29,919 to purchase a new ultrasound for the Mother/Baby department. In total, the event has raised over $200,000 to improve the health and well-being of the community. 

With golfers competing in costumes and with decorated golf carts, this year’s Rally will be held at the Elkhorn Golf Club on Tuesday, August 22. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. A locally curated raffle will bring excitement to the event, with winners being announced post-tournament alongside light appetizers and a no host bar.
